A large part of the Peruvian National Team is already in Seoul to concentrate on the friendly matches against South Korea and Japan, so the rest will soon join so that Juan Reynoso can have everyone and start preparing his strategy for these preparation matches. This Saturday Alex Valera and José Carvallo left for the Asian continent and it is expected that they will join training tomorrow.
Remember that both players recently returned from Colombia, after playing against Independiente Santa Fe with Universitario de Deportes in the Copa Sudamericana. Despite the 2-0 defeat, the forward and goalkeeper have to quickly turn the page and focus on these important commitments with the 'Blanquirroja'.
Valera took the time to appear before the media and gave his perspective on this call-up. His level at 'U' continues to be outstanding and Juan Reynoso called him to give him the support that a goalscorer always needs. This time he will have to fight for the starting position with Gianluca Lapadula and Paolo Guerrero, who has been called up again after a long time.
“I work every day to be called up, this is a plus to keep moving forward. I make an effort every day, take care of myself, and from all of that comes the reward. I arrive happy, motivated to try to contribute. Lapadula is in a great moment and he will add a lot. Also, with Paolo's arrival, there will be a good forward line,” said the 27-year-old forward.
Valera knows that he won't have it easy with so much competition for one position, however, he hopes to take advantage of the slightest opportunity given by the 'Ajedrecista'. “All those who are going on the tour will do it in the best way. I hope I can get the opportunity and give everything on the field,” he emphasized.
When will the matches of the Peruvian National Team be?
The Peruvian National Team will train in Seoul starting this Sunday, June 11th, and when the delegation is completed with the players who play abroad, Juan Reynoso will start working on the scheme and variations that he will propose for these friendly matches in Asia. To date, the 'Cabezón' has coached six matches with the 'Bicolor' and these will be two interesting tests thinking about the Qualifiers.
The match against South Korea is scheduled for Friday, June 16th, starting at 6:00 am (8:00 pm Korean time) and will be played at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium (Busan). On the other hand, the match against Japan is scheduled for Tuesday, June 20th, starting at 4:55 am (6:55 pm Japanese time) and will take place at the Panasonic Stadium Suita (Osaka).
