Why was this 9900 soles Bonus approved for Congressmen and parliamentary workers?
According to the document signed by José Williams, President of the Board of Directors, this subsidy is due to the "increase in the cost of living, current situations, the extension of the legislature of the current annual session period, the proximity of the celebration of Labor Day, and the fact that the workers of the Congress of the Republic carry out their functions with responsibility, efficiency, and beyond the ordinary working day."
What is this 9900 soles Bonus for Congressmen based on?
As detailed in the document, this bonus is based on Article 94 of the Political Constitution.
What does this article say? The Congress governs its economy and sanctions its budget. It is also argued that Congressmen perform their functions well beyond the ordinary working day.
It should be noted that in the Congress of the Republic there are more than 3300 workers, so this bonus of 9900 soles will entail a disbursement of 32 million 670 thousand soles.
