Peruvian ingenuity knows no limits. The Walter Ormeño team from Cañete faced the Verde Bremen team from Pueblo Nuevo last weekend. The team, named after the German team where Peruvian forward Claudio Pizarro plays, caused a stir on social media, to the point of monopolizing the final result.
Furthermore, the Verde Bremen team has an official uniform similar to the German team, a characteristic that caused more than a few laughs on social media. Another curious aspect of the match was that the Cañete team is currently coached by Héctor 'Tito' Chumpitaz Dulanto, former coach of the Peruvian U-20 National Team.
The Walter Ormeño team won the match against the team from Pueblo Nuevo by 5 goals to 0 and qualified for the second phase of the Copa Peru.
The team from Cañete is currently competing in the provincial stage of the Copa Peru, after being relegated from the second division last season.
