What was much debated in these days is where the pink team would play as the local team for this match of the Liga 1. The Miguel Grau Stadium was ruled out because they have just started with the work to return home, but the doubt was whether it would be played in Villa El Salvador or in another venue since it was a matter that the management was analyzing in order to generate the necessary income for the club's coffers.
But the doubts were dispelled, first of all, on April 21st by the voice of Jean Ferrari, administrator of the 'U', who assured that the Monumental Stadium will host the match. "The match against Sport Boys is already scheduled to be played at the Monumental. They put the Monumental Stadium as an alternate option, we have agreed to provide it," he mentioned to RPP.
Only four days passed since Ferrari's announcement and, on April 25th, Sport Boys confirmed the Monumental as the venue where they will play as the local team against the 'U'. In addition, they detailed that their fans will have the southern stand at their disposal to support their team. With this, the club ensures a good economic injection due to the 60,000 spectators that the cream stronghold has.
Since the 'Misilera' stopped playing in Callao in May 2022, they have only played in two venues: Alberto Gallardo once and Iván Elías Moreno, their current home. For this reason, it will be the first time they play as locals at the 'Coloso de Ate' during all the time they have not been able to play in Callao.
On July 16, 2022, the Universitario leadership loaned their stadium to Universidad San Martín so that they could play as locals against them. On that occasion, the team from Ate won 4-0.
