The Spanish tennis player Rafa Nadal has fallen this Friday against the Serbian Novak Djokovic, the world number one, who won 7-5 and 7-6 (4) in the quarterfinals of the Rome tournament.
Nadal lost the first set after wasting a 4-2 lead and missed up to five chances to win the second set with 5-4 in his favor.
In the tiebreak, the Spanish player fought until 5-4 in favor of the Serbian but lost the last two points with his serve and ended up defeated.
Djokovic, who was the champion in the last two editions of the Rome Masters, extends his winning streak in the Italian tournament to thirteen and will play the semifinal on Saturday against the winner of the match between the Austrian Dominic Thiem and the Japanese Kei Nishikori.
The Serbian also improves his record of victories in the Masters 1000 this season, winning 19 matches and losing only one in Monaco.
Nadal, who triumphed seven times in the Italian tournament in his twelve participations, has not won against Djokovic since the 2014 edition of Roland Garros when he won the title.
