Real Madrid, fourteen-time champion of Europe, has millions of fans around the world; among them, there are also celebrities who practice other sports unrelated to football, such as Rafael Nadal. And it is that the popular Spanish tennis player has referred on different occasions to the 'merengue' team, revealing to be very aware of its current situation. So, this Monday, he reappeared among cameras and encouraged to tell how he sees the present of the institution. Likewise, he surprised with his response when asked about the interest of the white team in Kylian Mbappé.
'Rafa' started the interview talking about the option of someday being the president of the Spanish team. "I don't have that dream but I would like to. But today we have the best possible president. Then, life takes many turns and one has to consider if one is qualified for certain things. I don't think I meet the requirements to be one", he mentioned to Movistar Plus+.
Regarding the last transfer market, the tennis player highlighted the decisions made by the board of the institution, especially the signing of Englishman Jude Bellingham. "A spectacular signing has been made", Nadal said.
However, the Spanish player also recalled the novel that took place with Kylian Mbappé in the last transfer windows and stated that he hopes the Frenchman will wear white in the future. "I do, I have no problem with Mbappé. Quite the opposite. I would be happy if he came. Of course I like Mbappé. It would only be missing. Who doesn't like Mbappé?", he pointed out.
Why didn't Real Madrid sign Mbappé in 2022?
Real Madrid was one step away from signing Mbappé in May of last year. After months of negotiations, President Florentino Pérez, apparently, convinced the French forward to play at the Santiago Bernabéu and only needed to put pen to paper.
However, out of the blue, the prodigy from Bondy stopped answering calls from the Paseo de la Castellana and a few days later appeared at the Parc des Princes, alongside Nasser Al-Khelaifi, to announce to the whole world his renewal with Paris Saint-Germain until June 30, 2024.
