President of the FPF talks about the Youth World Cup
The president of the FPF, Agustin Lozano, talked to América Deportes in Madrid about the youth event.
Is the U-17 World Cup only in Lima? Agustin Lozano referred to the news that circulated a few days ago, stating that the youth World Cup scheduled to take place between November and December 2023 had been lost.
The president of the FPF, Agustin Lozano, talked to América Deportes in Madrid and clarified that our country is not renouncing to organize the U-17 World Cup.
"Peru is not giving up. The FPF even less so, on the contrary. The government has already informed us about the decision to host the championship in the capital," said Lozano to América Deportes.
"With the Estadio Nacional, the Alberto Gallardo, San Marcos, and Callao. The government has presented us with an alternative, but it is an alternative that has to be evaluated by FIFA. Time is running out and we have to accelerate the work, if it is determined that the World Cup will be held in the capital," added the president.
Everything is in the hands of FIFA, if they accept the proposal of the Peruvian government and the FPF, we will have the U-17 World Cup in Lima and Callao; otherwise, it will be moved to another country.
