Sporting Cristal gives a medical report about Irven Ávila's injury
Through a statement, Sporting Cristal club publicly released the medical report about the injury suffered by Irven Ávila during the Liga 1 match against Atlético Grau de Piura, played last Sunday at the Alberto Gallardo stadium. As you may recall, the "Cholito" was injured after colliding with an advertising panel.
"After the tests carried out on our player Irven Ávila, led by the Medical Area of Sporting Cristal Club, a dislocated left elbow with a torn collateral ligament has been diagnosed. Pending evolution", the document published on the "Celeste" team's social networks reads.
The sports institution did not provide further details regarding the time Irven Ávila will have to recover. This leaves the "Bajopontinos" fans intrigued and concerned, as they consider him a key player in the team after scoring the qualification for the Group Stage of the Copa Libertadores on Thursday, March 16, against Huracán at the National Stadium.
ABOUT THE INJURY
As you may recall, Irven Ávila had scored the 1-1 equalizer during the first half of the match against Atlético Grau. However, minutes later, to be precise in the 25th minute, in a one-on-one situation, Irven Ávila tries to enter the opponent's area but falls to the ground in a ball dispute, colliding with the advertising panel and causing a severe injury.
