For some time now, WWE has decided to improve its wrestling level by hiring the best from the independent scene, which has resulted in great matches and dream combinations. The change has not only happened in men's wrestling, but the "revolution" has also extended to women. As previously mentioned, there is a lot of talent, and there are also many newcomers who are making the future very interesting.
A few days ago, the arrival of several gladiators at the WWE Performance Center was announced, including the beautiful Nikki Storm, whose real name is Nicola Glencross, and who WWE.com now presents as "the best in the galaxy". The gladiator, who has already fought against Kana (now Asuka) and has traveled the world in various companies, speaks about the new experience she is having in NXT. Here is a summary of what she has said, and there is no doubt that she will soon be a contender for the NXT Women's Championship:
On how she feels about signing with WWE:
"It feels incredible; it feels so good to be here. This is something I have been working towards for a very long time, so I am happy to be here and excited for the future.
"The first time I entered the performance center was in January, and the only way I can really describe it is that I finally understood what Alice felt when she went down the rabbit hole and realized she was in Wonderland. You have all these training rings, this amazing gym facility, the rooms, you have all the tools to succeed here. It's just this amazing facility, and it's incredible to have the opportunity to go there every day. For me, it really was like falling down the rabbit hole. You have to know why you are there. You're like, 'Oh wow, this is incredible, this is a dream come true,' but at the same time, you can't let the nerves overpower you. You have to be sure that you are there for a reason and you have to prove that reason daily."
About her goals in the company, Nicola says:
"(I want to win) the NXT Women's Championship, the WWE Women's Championship, the Tag Team Championship all by myself... [laughs]. No, really, I have goals in mind and I want to leave a legacy, and in 20 years' time, I want people to know exactly who I was. I want to be in the WWE Hall of Fame, I want to achieve greatness, I want to have these incredible matches, I want to have matches that make history, and I want to be a champion. I have big goals for myself."
About the "women's revolution" and who she would like to face, she says:
"There are so many great female superstars on the roster that I am excited and can't wait to work with. I am looking forward to having matches with the women I have been watching for a long time. I really think it's a great movement, and I believe it's a good time to be part of the division. And yes, I want to be part of it.
"(I would like to face) Becky Lynch. When I was 17 or 18 years old and discovered Shimmer, I just remember loving her work and personality. I have been lucky enough to meet her a couple of times, and she is incredibly nice and incredibly helpful. So she is definitely one of the women I would love to wrestle. I would love to have the chance to wrestle Paige again. We only got to compete against each other once in the independent scene. Natalya has always been someone I really idolized growing up, and I love what she does. Bayley has been so welcoming at the Performance Center, and I think we would have great matches to offer. Those are the ones off the top of my head. But really, I'm looking forward to wrestling everyone. It's going to be a very interesting journey, I'm sure."
