If Real Madrid took the lead at the end of the first half, Valencia has equalized at the start of the second half. The 'che' team took advantage of the concentration lapse of the Merengues, who were just getting settled on the field. Thanks to Samuel Lino's goal at the 46th minute, Gennaro Gattuso's team made it 1-1 at the Rey Fahd Stadium for the Supercopa de España.
Apparently, coach Gattuso gave his team a good pep talk during halftime, because as soon as the match resumed in Saudi Arabia, Valencia came out to corner the Merengues. Toni Lato positioned himself on the right and with all calm (no one from Madrid went out to press him) delivered a precise cross to Samuel Lino, who didn't miss his chance against goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
It's worth mentioning that the semifinal is a single match. In case of a tie, there will be a 30-minute extra time, divided into two 15-minute halves. If the extra time ends in a draw, the match will be decided by a penalty shootout.
