The governing body of Peruvian football issued a statement to explain the scope of its new agreement with 1190 Sports for the broadcast rights of the Liga 1.

Teams that have a valid contract with the Peruvian Soccer Consortium (GolPerú) for the broadcasting of their matches in the 2023 League 1 can continue to be broadcasted by said television network, as reported in a recent statement by the Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF). This announcement concerns Universitario de Deportes, Sport Boys, Carlos A. Mannucci, and Deportivo Municipal, whose connection with the television network extends for a couple more years.

In the midst of the dispute over broadcasting rights, the administrator of "Universitario", Jean Ferrari, said that the mentioned channel could not cover the 2023 Crema Night: "We have been informed that the people from the Consortium will not be able to broadcast the match," he said. This is due to the precautionary measure that the FPF has sent. In response to this, the governing body clarified some points on the matter.

The entity indicates that the four mentioned clubs "are the only ones with the consent of the FPF to continue broadcasting their official matches of the 2023 Liga 1 Betsson through the CFP signal, until December 31, 2025". Furthermore, it states that "any match that is not organized by the FPF, such as friendly matches, has no impediment to be broadcasted", in response to what Ferrari mentioned.

FPF responds to the Association of Footballers

In the afternoon of January 7th, the Association of Footballers (Safap) issued a statement demanding an "immediate solution to the internal conflict" and that the 19 clubs be called to an emergency meeting and not leave that room until the required consensus is reached.

"The FPF makes a very important call to Safap to remind them of their function of promoting the well-being and stability of all footballers belonging to all clubs," the statement begins. It also recalled the economic contributions that the organization made: "The FPF has made millionaire investments in Safap for the benefit of footballers, who carried debts by some clubs."

"Safap must maintain neutrality in these cases and not induce its associates to engage in acts that could result in serious sanctions from local and international football bodies," it concludes.

FPF reported that GolPerú is not prevented from broadcasting presentation matches

A few days before the presentation of the Universitario de Deportes squad for the 2023 Crema Night, Jean Ferrari stated that GolPerú could not broadcast their match due to the precautionary measure imposed by the FPF. In response, the Peruvian Football Federation, the highest entity of Peruvian soccer, responded to the administrator of the "creamy" team.

"The FPF has the ownership of the broadcasting rights for official and friendly matches of the tournaments it organizes, as already informed to all those involved in the official statement issued by the FPF on December 17. However, the rights of friendly matches organized by the clubs, such as the presentation of their teams at the beginning of the season, belong to the clubs and they can negotiate them with the operator they agree," said the FPF through its spokesperson Carlos Caro.
