FPF tras acuerdo entre Alianza Lima y GolPerú: “Esto puede generar un descenso”

Alianza Lima and clubs that sign their television rights contract with GolPerú, instead of adapting to the new model proposed by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), could see their participation in the Liga 1 2023 compromised and even be relegated as a result of non-compliance with the statutes.

"Throughout this process, the clubs have been kept informed because they are partners in the project; however, the situation is clear, if they do not respect the statutes and do not sign the declarations, they will not be able to participate in the next season of Liga 1 and this could lead to relegation, as stipulated by the new regulations," said the legal spokesperson of the FPF, Carlos Caro.

As previously stated a few months ago, the official reiterated that the ownership of the rights to the competitions organized belongs to the FPF, which has the endorsement of an Assembly of Bases ratified by FIFA and the TAS.

This Monday, the governing body of Peruvian football presented the regulations for the new season of the first division championship, which specifies the requirements that each team must meet to participate in the competition.

Among these requirements is the mandatory submission of a declaration of conformity, in which recognition is given to rights such as marketing, brand assets, audiovisuals, and data as belonging to the competition, while clubs have exclusive ownership of others not related to the tournament.

Alianza Lima signed a 12-year agreement with GolPerú

The statement from the FPF comes shortly after it was announced that Alianza Lima reached an agreement with the Peruvian Football Consortium (GolPerú) in exchange for 99 million dollars for 12 seasons.

The white and blue team was one of those whose contract with the specialized channel ended this year and had already made it clear its intention to continue under its sponsorship, despite the warnings about possible exclusion from FPF and Conmebol tournaments.

Which company has the rights to Liga 1 2023?

After not finding a bidder for the tender held in Santiago de Chile a few months ago, the FPF negotiated directly and reached an agreement with 1190 Sports, a company that will now have the broadcasting rights of Liga 1.

According to Jean Marcel Robilliard, general secretary of the FPF, the establishment of this new associative model for the broadcasting of Liga 1 will be beneficial both for the fans, as the competition will reach a larger audience, and for the clubs, who will have greater exposure and visibility.
