Sam Pittman cherishes win over Ole Miss, bowl eligibility

Sam Pittman knows what Arkansas has accomplished, and what a win over Ole Miss means for the program and to be bowl eligible.

He reflected on those accomplishments after the game with the SEC Network crew of Cole Cubelic, Tom Hart and Jordan Rodgers.

“It’s a big deal, we’ve been here 3 years, that’s a top-15 team in the country we were able to beat, and our sixth win over top 25 teams since we’ve been here,” Pittman said. “The kids are bowl eligible 3 years in a row. Our program’s on the up and up. We play in a hell of a division, and that’s what it is, you’ve got to be ready each and every week, but we’ve got a good football team, I think you saw that tonight. We’ve got a big game against Missouri, but we’ll celebrate tonight.”

Pittman said on Arkansas’ first 2 touchdowns, the Razorbacks didn’t block well, but KJ Jefferson, who returned from injury, made it happen.

“With KJ in there, we don’t have to be perfect you know because he’ll make us that way,” Pittman said. “I might have took the gas off too fast, but I’ll say this: We’ve got more than they do, and that’s all that matters.”

Pittman also applauded Bumper Pool on Senior Night, as the veteran came back to get the tackle record and he’s battled through injury problems.

Asked how he would celebrate, Pittman said, “I believe I’m going to have me an ol’ cold beer, that’s kind of what I like to do.”
