The Charros de Jalisco defeated the Sultanes with a score of 2-1 to break a five-game losing streak and tie the series at one win each in the Mobil Super Stadium.

In the top of the seventh inning, Agustín Murillo received a walk, advanced to second base with José Juan Aguilar's sacrifice bunt, and scored the go-ahead run with Santiago Chávez's single.

The winning pitcher was left-hander Adrián Gusman (1-0) in relief work with the second save for Josh Lueke. The loss went to Norman Elenes (1-1).

The Charros took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning with the first home run of the season by Christian Villanueva.

Monterrey tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two outs, Bligh Madris hit a single to right field to drive in Carlos Figueroa from second base.

The Gray Phantoms defense executed four double plays, in the second, third, sixth, and ninth innings.

The Jalisco team had a good performance from their starter, Jared Wilson, who allowed only two hits and one run in five innings, with seven strikeouts, three walks, and two hit batters.

Monterrey had the potential tying run at second base in the seventh inning with one out, but Alberto Carreón struck out and Bligh Madris was grounded out by the shortstop.

The series will conclude this Thursday at 7:30 PM with left-hander Gabino Ávalos as the probable pitcher for the Sultanes.
