Paolo Guerrero is not doing well at Avaí. Although the historic top goal scorer for the Peruvian national team is getting minutes after overcoming a complicated knee injury, his club is struggling in the Brasileirao and remains in the relegation zone.
In their last match, the team was defeated by Sao Paulo (4-0) and currently sits in the 17th position in the local tournament. The Peruvian forward came on as a substitute, but couldn't change the situation.
After what happened, journalist Andrew Sousa criticized the performance of the 38-year-old striker. "I think my friend Paolo Guerrero needs to accept that his time has come," he wrote on his official Twitter account.

Let's remember that this is not the first time they criticize the performance of 'Depredador' (Guerrero's nickname). A few weeks ago, the Globoesporte portal compared the Peruvian forward with the historic Uruguayan footballer Sebastián Abreu.
"Ten years ago, Figueirense bet on 'Loco' Abreu, idol of Uruguayan football. The forward frustrated the albinegra fans, as he only played seven matches, scored one goal, and suffered relegation at the end of 2012," they pointed out about the Uruguayan.
On the other hand, they questioned Guerrero's poor record since he returned to Brazilian football. "Idol of Peruvian football, the striker is still looking for his first goal. In seven games, there were only three shots, 11 fouls committed, and three successful dribbles in 369 minutes on the field," they emphasized.
