The announcement of Sting's retirement, although expected, does not cease to fall like a bucket of cold water for his followers, who for years waited for him to have his stage in WWE and it ended up being less than stellar, especially for his fight against Triple H at WrestleMania, a fight that no one wanted to see, as everyone clamored for Undertaker vs. Sting, which will now be the greatest fight ever held at WrestleMania.

In the most recent edition of the Sharpshooter Show, Bret Hart's podcast, the Canadian multichampion spoke about what he enjoyed the most about his time in WCW:

"I really didn't enjoy anything, but if I have to sum it all up in one thing, I would say fighting Sting. He is a classy guy, a true gentleman. It's great to work with him, it's great to talk to him, go out and have fun with him. He is a true friend and he is not driven by ego. I never saw an ounce of ego in him. He always works for the good of the team, and of course, I have a lot of respect for him."

"When I now see some of our fights, I still rate them as very good. And we have to consider that they had absolutely no direction. There was no story, nothing made sense. But he was able to make sense of the stupidest things that Bischoff could come up with."

"I have a lot of respect for the fact that he stayed there for so long. You never forget guys like Sting. He was there every day, he came to work and gave his best every night. He represented the real difference compared to people like me in the dressing room, who had practically lost the illusion of fighting there."
