The first point: Peru drew 1-1 with Paraguay for the 2nd match of the Revelations Cup U-20.

The team led by Gustavo Roverano tried to take control of the game, taking advantage of the fact that the Paraguayan team showed some fear in the early stages of the match. However, the torrential rain that fell on the Ciudad de los Deportes stadium prevented either team from showing their best version.

Despite having numerical superiority due to Rolón's expulsion, the 'Blanquirroja' did not know how to translate their supremacy into goals and the score remained unchanged in the first half. Paraguay, on the other hand, defended very well against Roverano's team's attacks.

In the second half, the 'Bicolor' made the same mistakes as against the United States and this time they were punished. The 'Albirroja' did not forgive and took the lead through Antonio Duarte, who scored the 1-0 goal in the 53rd minute.

Curiously, Duarte himself would be sent off minutes later, leaving Paraguay with nine players. This time Peru did not miss their opportunity and went all out to secure the equalizer.

The equalizer came in the 63rd minute, thanks to a goal scored by Stefano Olaya. Throughout the rest of the second half, the 'Blanquirroja' maintained possession of the ball and tried by all means to take the lead, but their problems in finishing prevented them from doing so.

With this 1-1 draw against Paraguay and their first point in the Revelations Cup 2022, the Peruvian National Team will face Mexico in the third round. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27.
