Why would anyone want to fight a beast that knows it's going to devour him?

The Hall of Fame and former WWE World Champion Mick Foley visited Ambrose on Raw to 'anoint' him as his heir within the wrestling company.

The 'hardcore' legend tried to find out Ambrose's reasons for facing Lesnar. This after making sure that he will come out "terribly damaged". The 'lunatic fringe' replied: for the same reason you did the things you did.

Ambrose appealed to the epic fight in a Hell in a Cell between Foley and The Undertaker. In the 1998 King of the Ring, Undertaker threw Foley from the top of the cell onto the commentator's table. It was a memorable event for the WWE universe. After that, the extreme wrestler continued his fight. He did it "because I'm Mick Foley, and that's what I did".

The 'lunatic fringe' paraphrased Foley to explain his motivations for facing Lesnar and for his tussles against The Authority. After this, Foley said: "I want you to take Brock Lesnar on a journey at WrestleMania (...) and I want you to have something special. Consider it a passing of the torch," Foley told Ambrose as he handed it to him.

The gift is Foley's 'good friend': his bat wrapped in barbed wire. The same one he used to make greats like Terry Funk, Randy Orton, Triple H, Edge, among many others succumb. Thus, Ambrose receives an incredible endorsement with an eye on WrestleMania 32.
