Santiago Ormeño Scores His First Goal for Chivas

Santiago Ormeño scored his first official goal in the Chivas vs. Monterrey match on Tuesday in matchday 16 of the Liga MX. The Peruvian striker waited five matches of the Apertura 2022 Tournament to debut in front of the nets. Not only that, the contribution of the '9' was key to his team's second consecutive victory.

Santi, who has not started in any of his four games with Guadalajara (in another he stayed on the bench), entered the field of the Jalisco Colossus at 70' to replace his teammate Ángel Zaldívar. The national striker, as happened in his other appearances, entered with the pressure of changing the course of the match.

Although in the previous games he couldn't do much, in the midweek duel he was able to bring joy to the 'Rebaño' fans.

Everything started with a pass from the midfield forward for the appearance of Fernando Beltrán. The Chivas player faced the 'Rayados' defense, but passed to the side with Cristian Calderón. Immediately, the player in red and white looked for another option and delivered the ball to Carlos Cisneros.

Guadalajara's number 24 assisted the former León player, despite having Luis Romo ahead of him. Ormeño, then, controlled, faced the goal and took a shot on the far post. In this way, Santiago defeated goalkeeper Esteban Andrada to open the scoring in the domestic competition match.

Right after, the Peruvian turned, made a heart with his fingers, and threw himself onto the grass. Then, all the team members surrounded him and climbed on top of 'Santi' to congratulate him for scoring his first goal with Chivas. And, as they said in the commentary: "Historic goal... hopefully the first of many."
