The former Mexican national team forward Adolfo 'Bofo' Bautista stated that he will not celebrate Santiago Ormeño's goals with Chivas.

Santiago Ormeño is being criticized because of his signing with Chivas de Guadalajara. The Peruvian National Team forward had an irregular campaign with León but ended up being attracted to the 'Sacred Herd'. However, since this news became known, 'Santi' received harsh comments from the fans and some former footballers, who did not see his hiring as appropriate.

One of them is the renowned Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista. The former striker of the Mexican National Team and an emblematic player of Chivas referred to the recent incorporation of Ormeño into the club of his loves through a post on his Instagram account.

In the publication, the former footballer expressed his love for the club. He also stated that he will not celebrate 'Ormedeus' goals and accompanied the message with a photo of Ormeño singing the anthem with the Peruvian shirt. "I love Chivas, I love the history of Chivas, I will continue to be a Chiva, but Bofo will not celebrate your goals, you love your country", is what is read in the post.

It is important to highlight that Bautista's annoyance arises from the "rules" that the red and white team has of not having any foreign player in the squad and that is why the criticism has not stopped coming since Ormeño was officially announced as a reinforcement for the 2022-23 season.

In addition, it is not the first time that 'Bofo' has targeted a footballer, on previous occasions he also did the same with Mexican national team players like Miguel Layún. "Who will this 'junior' be who thanks to his agent was able to kick a ball. Now I understand why those with abilities and talent don't succeed when playing professionally", were the words he used against the Mexican National Team's defender.

Despite the hostile reception, there are those who have defended the national team player. One of them was Francisco Palencia. The former Mexican forward supported Santiago Ormeño arguing that he was as Mexican as the rest. "Santiago is as Mexican as those of us who are Mexican because I know his father. He did the same thing that many naturalized players did, the only opportunity to go to a Senior National Team was with Peru", he affirmed.

On the other hand, previously, the father of the National Team forward had come out to defend his son against the criticism he was receiving. "Who cares? I don't understand, he is Mexican. He has his Mexican passport and his Mexican birth certificate", he clarified.

It is worth mentioning that Santiago Ormeño arrived from León on loan for the remainder of 2022 and will stay with Chivas until the end of 2023.

When will Ormeño debut with Chivas?

Santiago Ormeño was ruled out for the match between Chivas and León in Matchday 4 of the Apertura Tournament of Liga MX. Likewise, he will not face Juventus on July 22. It is expected that his official debut with the red and white shirt will be on July 27 when his team faces Querétaro.
