The President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, awarded nearly S/ 2,000,000 in incentives to the athletes who won gold, silver, and bronze medals at the XIX Bolivarian Games Valledupar 2022.
The president assured that his government will continue supporting sports, as evidenced by the recent approval of the regulatory document for the development of the 2022 School Sports and Paralympic Games.
PERU TO HOST MAJOR SPORTING EVENTS
The head of state also highlighted that Peru is preparing to host major international tournaments, such as the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Additionally, he mentioned that the Bolivarian Games of the Bicentennial will take place in Ayacucho in 2024, an international competition that will showcase both the region and Peru to the world.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Education, Rosendo Serna; the President of the Peruvian Olympic Committee, Renzo Manyari Velazco; the President of the Peruvian Institute of Sport, Máximo Pérez Zevallos, and the participating athletes of the aforementioned sports games.
