Australia defeated United Arab Emirates (2-1) and earned the right to play the intercontinental playoff with the Peruvian National Team for a spot in the Qatar 2022 World Cup. In that sense, the coach of the Oceanic team, Graham Arnold, ensured that they must play a better match against the Blanquirroja.
Arnold expressed his happiness for the passage to the intercontinental playoff; however, he said that there is room for improvement in performance. "I am 50% happy with the team. I think there is still a lot to improve," he said. "We will have to play a better match," he added in reference to the next encounter.
"If I ask my players if they have room for progression, I think they would all say yes. That's what we need," he asserted. "As far as I'm concerned, I will start analyzing Peru, but the players will have a day off. They will have to recover so they can be fresh," he added.
