After feeling the energy and love from the audience and the majority of his teammates in the sad announcement of his retirement as a wrestler, Daniel Bryan was interviewed in the WWE dressing rooms and, trying his best not to cry, he commented once again that he didn't want to say goodbye. Below is a very interesting video where he reveals that he and Ryback cried a lot together.
Let us remember that Daniel Bryan was one of the few friends that Ryback had in his early days in the main roster of WWE and they travelled, ate, and worked out together.
These are the statements of Daniel Bryan with his beautiful wife and important partner, Brie Bella:
- Tom Phillips: "Daniel Bryan, given this contrast... What do you have to say, how do you feel?"
Daniel Bryan: "I feel sad, so you know what is coming, as you said and you know where it's all going and what it means. And it's hard, sometimes, because it is said that we are part of fiction, that we are characters in a fictional world and this is something that makes you wish it was fiction. It's... very, very difficult."
- Tom Phillips: "Obviously, you say it because of your fans, but really, how psychologically prepared are you to leave your fans and everyone backstage here at WWE?"
"You know, it's amazing because I have really been crying a lot the nights prior to today. (Brie Bella adds that Daniel Bryan cried a lot). Also because Ryback came here and 'The Big Guy' and I have been crying a lot. And then all my other friends came to give me big hugs and we also cried a lot. When you love this so much, it becomes harder. BUT... the reason why my retirement hurts the most is because I love this so much. Over 15 years doing what you truly love is really, really amazing."
- Tom Phillips: "You announced it on Raw, but you announced it on Twitter before. Did you see everything that happened on social media?"
Daniel Bryan: "Um, I only really looked at it a couple of times. Not a whole lot because when something like this happens, it is overwhelming. Brie Bella and her mom sent me a couple of messages from some people, but maybe I'll see it tomorrow... Hahaha. Today, I'm just trying to be able to move on because I'm really devastated."
- Tom Phillips: "Tonight, the WWE Universe surely appreciated the big smile you had on your face. Were you prepared to say goodbye?""
Daniel Bryan: "You know, honestly, I really didn't want to say goodbye. But I also didn't want to be sad... Because the truth is that I had a wonderful career and sometimes what you feel inside is not what really represents you. This feeling inside that I have been feeling lately, I think that the fans shouldn't take that sadness from me, I wanted them to only take my gratitude. All my gratitude towards them. The things that happened at WrestleMania 30 were great, but there are also things with my family and my wife Brie that I wanted the fans to know that they were a part of."
- Tom Phillips: "Brie, you also had a big smile..."
Brie Bella: "I'm very excited. It's typical of Bryan to be very inspiring and to see that smile and that energy and to know that we lost him because of an injury, but it's part of wrestling. And to see the fans and the WWE roster and Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, and Vince McMahon come out to say goodbye is something great for my husband."
