Gabriel Suazo
Gabriel Suazo went from being one of the most questioned players to becoming one of the pillars of Colo Colo's great present. The Cacique's captain endured the worst period in the club's history, but managed to recover with the help of Gustavo Quinteros.
With the arrival of the coach, the former midfielder gradually moved to the left, becoming a fullback. That position suited his style of play, to the point of elevating him as one of the great figures of Chilean football.
The level shown by Gabriel Suazo not only earned him the leadership of Colo Colo, but also call-ups to the Chilean national team. And although the Roja did not secure a spot in Qatar 2022, the Albos player emerged as one of the players for the highly anticipated transition.
In Colo Colo, they are aware that their captain may not have much time left at the Monumental stadium. His contract ends at the end of this year and, although there is a desire to negotiate a renewal, the truth is that nothing can be done if an important offer comes from abroad.
Gabriel Suazo to Pablo Guede's Málaga?
At 24 years old, Gabriel Suazo seems to have reached the football maturity to be the captain of Colo Colo and become one of the figures of Chilean football. This has attracted attention from abroad, where they are already keeping an eye on him.
And it is an old acquaintance who would come in search of Gabi, as Rodrigo Herrera revealed on Tuesday that Pablo Guede wants to take him to Málaga. In the last edition of RedGol en La Clave, the journalist raised doubts about the continuity of the fullback.
"How did Gabriel Suazo get along with Pablo Guede during his time at Colo Colo? I ask this because I heard a rumor," he began explaining. "I'm talking about Málaga because the summer transfer market in European football is about to open."
After that, Rodrigo Herrera detailed that the former Colo Colo coach is considering Gabriel Suazo for the 2022/23 campaign. "I heard the rumor that if Pablo Guede (who recently signed with the club) remains as the coach for the next season, one of the players he could consider is Gabriel Suazo," stated Herrera.
For this to happen, Málaga must first maintain their category. With seven matches remaining, they currently have 38 points, seven points away from the relegation zone. "Perhaps it would be a good leap for Suazo to adapt to another style of football in Europe," Rodrigo Herrera concluded.
For now, Gabriel Suazo focuses on his season with Colo Colo, where they are fighting for the top position in the National Championship and aspire to be the surprise team in the Copa Libertadores.
