Today is a very special day for everyone connected to Sporting Cristal, the team from Rímac celebrates 66 years of history since its foundation. Great idols of Peruvian football such as Julio César Uribe, Nolberto Solano, Alberto Gallardo, Carlos Lobatón, among others, have passed through the blue store.

"I am happy because I am part of the institution's history and nobody is going to take it away from me. I earned it with effort. The memory I have is the first day I arrived at the institution and I was amazed by everything I saw," said the former footballer, to Ovación.

He also highlighted the work of the blue team. "Since I started, Cristal is the most serious institution, which had transparency management and knew how to grow the club in all aspects. The new boards have the obligation to maintain what the former owners left," he added.

The popular 'Chorri' revealed the key that led the cerveceros to win the national tricampeonato (94, 95 and 96). "In the tricampeonato, we respected all opponents and that was the key for us to become a great team," he emphasized.

Roberto Palacios had three stints at Sporting Cristal, the first was in his professional debut (1991), and he stayed there until 1996. Subsequently, he returned in 2001 and the following year he left again for Mexican football. Six years later, he returned to the blue team and stayed until his retirement in 2011.
