"I don't know why Claudio was not called up again. I don't know if it's because he's old, I still don't understand. Neither Pizarro nor I have been called up since the start of the Copa América Centenario. But he should have been in the 2018 World Cup, easily," 'El Loco' declared in an interview with 'El Cuto' Guadalupe.
Let's remember that before the World Cup, 'Pizza' played for Colonia, which competed in the Bundesliga.
Despite not being present for most of the qualifiers, Juan Vargas confessed to feeling happy to see the Peruvian National Team in a World Cup after 36 years of absence.
"I was happy when they went to the 2018 World Cup. This was also a showcase for them to show themselves. I cheered, I watched the games with all my people. The truth is that the experience and the moment they experienced were quite beautiful," declared Juan Vargas.
