On the eve of their debut in the Florida Cup, this afternoon against Bayern Leverkusen, the coach of Independiente Santa Fe, Gerardo Pelusso, spoke to journalists and assured that his team is in the preparation stage with the aim of continuing to grow and achieve better results than last year.
"The Florida Cup will serve us to continue preparing for everything we have to face this year, especially considering that our preseason has just started and we have been doing an introduction," said the coach.
Pelusso also commented that the new players who have joined the team are in said process, because "in these first days, players who have just finished their vacations have arrived, for example, players who were with us in the last season who only had 25 days of rest, others have fewer days, like the case of Tesillo, who played with Junior in the final against Nacional."
On the other hand, he talked about the departure of Jhon Fredy Miranda to Italian football, which would take place in the coming days. "I have just been informed that Miranda would be leaving on January 12th for Italian football, and it is not unlikely that, due to the performances of many of our players, offers may arise that they cannot refuse, and they will leave. That is why I do not see the option of definitively closing the transfer window very feasible, especially at this time," Pelusso added.
He concluded by asserting that "we cannot forget about the day and time of the match against Oriente Petrolero, a game that is official because if we do not defeat the Bolivians in this first phase, there would be no Copa Libertadores for us this year."
