Ronaldo leads Portugal to victory against Luxembourg
Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo bounced back from the denied goal during the match against Serbia, where they drew 2-2, and defeated the Luxembourg national team 3-1 in an away game.
Luxembourg took the lead in the encounter at the 30-minute mark with a goal from Gerson Rodríguez, but just before halftime, the Portuguese team equalized thanks to Diogo Jota. At 51', Cristiano reappeared and turned the score around by scoring the second goal for his team. Finally, Joao Palhinha scored the third goal at 80', sealing the victory.
With this result, the Portuguese team now sits at the top of Group A in the UEFA 2022 Qualifiers. Ronaldo now has a total of 103 goals with the Portuguese national team and is closing in on the record holder for international goals, Ali Daei, who scored 109 goals for his national team.
