The 2021 season will be the one in which the board led by Francisco Egas has the highest income, but also the one that makes the most expenses, according to the projection of income and expenses presented this Friday at the Ordinary Congress of the Ecuadorian Football Federation.

According to the estimates for the economic exercise of this 2021, the values ​​increase, especially around the activity of the national teams, which will consume at least 50% of the FEF's annual budget, according to its president Francisco Egas.

The FEF's projection for this year is to receive $28,638,710, with income from television and advertising as the strongest with $12,215,907, followed by amounts received by the national teams for their performances, with a figure of $9,587,000. Other items correspond to income from FIFA, Conmebol and the "exploitation" of the rights to the Supercopa Ecuador.

Among the expenses, it is also the national teams that will represent the highest "expense" for the FEF this year, with an estimated $14,183,303, 50% of the budget managed by the Ecuadorian Football Federation for this season.

"The budget for national teams is quite high due to the number of participations, such as the five double rounds of qualifiers, which are 10 matches, with a high prize budget, plus the costs of travel. There is also the Copa America (Argentina-Colombia), which generates significant income, but also a strong expense for prizes and the logistics of spending a month outside of Ecuador", Egas explained.

The organization of Copa and Supercopa Ecuador, in addition to the national championships managed by the Ecuadorian Football Federation in different categories, consume another 15% of the budget, with an estimated amount of $4,185,565, in addition to complementary items.

"The main expenses are related to football. This year we plan to invest 77% of the budget in items related to football, such as competitions, coaching staff, players, among others", explained Egas.

With the estimated income and expenses for this year at the Ecuadorian Football Federation, the entity would have a surplus of $13,201.43 at the end of the season. (D)
