President of Paraguayan Football Association calls for press conference
The President of the Paraguayan Football Association (APF), Robert Harrison, has called for a press conference on Monday at 12:00 hours regarding the issue involving Marco Trovato, president of Olimpia, who has been banned for life by FIFA.
"The President of the APF, Robert Harrison, calls for a press conference at 12:00 PM at the Central Headquarters," said the Press Department of the national football governing body.
The FIFA Disciplinary Committee issued a lengthy statement on Monday informing that it has decided to sanction Marco Trovato, president of Olimpia, with a lifetime ban for match manipulation and for failing to cooperate during the disciplinary proceedings.
The decision taken against the Olimpia president is related to a series of matches held between 2018 and 2019, highlighted in a part of the document.
As a result of these violations, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has decided to permanently disqualify Trovato and impose a fine of 100,000 Swiss francs (CHF). This determination can be appealed to the Appeals Committee of the aforementioned institution.
