The midfielder Armando Monteverde was hospitalized and will be under medical observation for 72 hours, as reported by his club, Liga de Portoviejo.
The player "presented a contusion at the level of the left hemithorax" during Thursday's practice, according to the medical report.
Monteverde was referred to a healthcare facility in Manta, where he underwent a thoracocentesis.
