This Monday the FIFA Foundation announced that among its plans is to organize a charity football match in the fight against the coronavirus and gave details of how it will be carried out and where the collaboration will go.
For his part, Gianni Infantino, president of the entity, assured that details about the date, place or participants in this match have not yet been finalized.
"We have been actively involved in raising awareness through other campaigns and FIFA has contributed financially to this cause, but now we commit to organizing this worldwide fundraising event when the health situation allows it, even if it may take a few months", commented Infantino.
Regarding the management of the funds raised, he specified that the amounts achieved will be destined for Access to Covid19 Tools, an alliance that develops and produces technologies against the pandemic.
On the other hand, Mauricio Macri, current executive president of the FIFA Foundation, assured that other entities will be part of this global event.
"It will involve not only the global football community, but also other stakeholders, from non-governmental organizations to other foundations, including the private sector and governments. In order to ensure that this initiative is significant help to those at the forefront of research in the fight against Covid19", said the former president of Argentina.
