The death of Pedro Pablo 'Perico' León has saddened Peruvian football. The legendary player of the Peruvian National Team and Alianza Lima died at the age of 76 after being hospitalized due to a health complication.
Different figures from the sports world lamented his passing, such as Paolo Guerrero, who considered 'Perico' as the best number 9 in the history of Peruvian football.
"Rest in peace, Uncle Perico León (the best number 9 in the history of Peruvian football). May God have you in his glory," said the captain of the Peruvian National Team in an Instagram story.
"My condolences to his family," added Guerrero, who received the support of his followers on social media.
Angelica León, daughter of the former national team player, confirmed to RPP Noticias the death of Perico León, who returned to Peru last February from Patterson, United States.
