Ronald Koeman, Netherlands Football Manager, Hospitalized
The coach of the Netherlands national football team, Ronald Koeman, was hospitalized on Sunday with a heart problem, his agent told local radio station NOS.
The 57-year-old former footballer was taken from his home by ambulance, but after a surgical intervention, he was in stable condition, his wife Bartina told De Telegraaf newspaper.
Koeman's agent, Rob Jansen, told NOS that he expects the coach to be discharged from the hospital on Monday.
Koeman has been the coach of the Netherlands for a little over two years and helped the country qualify for Euro 2020, which has been postponed to next year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The former defender, who won the European Cup with PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona as a player, was the coach of Everton in England before taking charge of the national team.
Liverpool midfielder and Netherlands national team player Georginio Wijnaldum wished Koeman a speedy recovery in a message on Twitter. (D)
