In 1962, it was the first team to win the national championship undefeated, a historic event. In 1981, they put together a team that was only 3 points away from qualifying for the playoffs and achieved several important results, such as thrashing Liga de Portoviejo (4-0), Técnico Universitario (5-1), and Deportivo Cuenca (6-1).
