María Fernanda Reyes was crowned champion of the Rincón Surf Fest at Domes Beach, Rincón, Puerto Rico. The national athlete scored 12.23 points in the final, compared to her rival, the American Callie Summerlin, who scored 8.44 points. This event was part of the Women's Longboard Tour of the World Surf League (WSL).
María Fernanda achieves this title for the second time. Last year she also won first place in the North American Championship by defeating Kaitlin Mikkelsen (United States), and this weekend she was able to successfully defend her title.
"Two-time North American champion, here in Puerto Rico, happier than ever. Thank you very much to everyone for sending me good vibes, and to my boyfriend Rafael for accompanying and supporting me throughout the competition, along with Pepe and Melba who have received us incredibly well. Vamos Perú!" Mafer wrote on her social media.
