The directive of Independiente del Valle clarifies the contract signing with goalkeeper Jorge Pinos Haiman

Furthermore, it backs itself up with three documents in order to validate the proper licensing of the professional football player, with the objective of participating in the national championship of LigaPro, the Ecuador Cup, and the Sudamericana Cup.

In this context, the reigning champion of the Sudamericana refers to the claims made by Técnico Universitario club and Argentine club Colón de Santa Fe, which was defeated (3-1) by Independiente in the continental final last Saturday in Asunción, Paraguay. The last two teams mentioned allege improper alignment of goalkeeper Pinos in the final of said tournament organized by Conmebol.

"The hiring of the mentioned player was made in accordance with the regulations established by the Ecuadorian Football Federation and LigaPro related to the eligibility of players," states the directive in a statement published at 16:25 yesterday on their social networks, in which it assures that Pinos arrived at the club as a free agent and his contract was registered at FEF on February 21, 2019, and at LigaPro on February 22, 2019.

Additionally, the directive maintains that LigaPro and FEF reviewed and validated the documentation, therefore, goalkeeper Jorge Pinos Haiman, "was duly registered in the Sudamericana Cup in accordance with the law."

At the end of the letter, the directors of Independiente del Valle express regret over the mechanism used by their counterparts at Técnico Universitario, "a fraternal club," which in turn led the directors of Colón de Santa Fe to file a complaint "based on false facts."

Thus, IDV attached a document from LigaPro signed by the director of Competitions of that organization, Jorge Eguez; another one signed by the general secretary of FEF, María Velásquez Santana; and the original copy of the settlement agreement of the Sur y Norte sports club, from the second category of national soccer, signed by its president, Jorge Danny Pazos, and goalkeeper Jorge Pinos.
