Peru U-23 defeats Colombia in friendly match
The Peru U-23 national team, led by Nolberto Solano, defeated their Colombian counterparts 1-0 in the second friendly match held at the Miguel Grau Stadium in Callao. The goal was scored by Kevin Quevedo in the 37th minute of the first half, giving Peru their revenge.
Solano's team showed more solidity both in attack and in the defensive zone, which resulted in impressive performances and victory over the rival.
"This level of effectiveness is crucial. We played against a very strong team, with many players playing in Europe, and we cannot give them any advantage. They were more effective, we did not take advantage of our opportunities," analyzed Solano in a press conference prior to the victory.
It should be noted that this match serves as preparation for the upcoming Pre-Olympic tournament next year.
