Argentina vs Germany: Ter Stegen changes his stance on his relationship with Manuel Neuer for starting position [PHOTOS]

The decision of the German coach, Joachim Löw, to place Ter Stegen in goal against Argentina in a friendly match this Wednesday, has captured the attention of the German media, due to the duel between the Barcelona goalkeeper and Manuel Neuer, from Bayern Munich.

Ter Stegen reiterated over and over again that his intention is to show "the best possible performance" against Argentina, and also assured that his relationship with Neuer is "good," since both handle the situation "as professionals."

Löw, on the other hand, has insisted that the number one and captain of his team for the European Championship next year is Neuer, who will be in goal in the match next Sunday against Estonia, a qualifier for the European tournament.

On the other hand, Marc-André ter Stegen regretted not coinciding with his Barcelona teammate, Lionel Messi, in the friendly match against Argentina tomorrow, although he admitted that his absence will also be "something good" for him.

"It would have been nice to face each other there. Although maybe it's also good that he's not there," Ter Stegen quipped, when asked about Messi's absence, who remains suspended by Conmebol for controversial statements.

Ter Stegen warned, however, that Argentina is a "dangerous team, even without Leo," and insisted that the entire German team will try to show "the best of themselves" in that friendly match.
