Historic Victory for Colo Colo in the Chilean League

The match at the Monumental Stadium had historical significance due to Esteban Paredes' goal, which made him the top scorer in the history of the Chilean league with 216 goals.

Argentinian Julio Barroso scored the winning goal in the 94th minute for the home team, right after a corner kick, unleashing joy among the fans.

It was a thrilling and exciting superclasico, with Colo Colo trying to maintain their 18-year unbeaten streak at home against Universidad de Chile, and the university team gathering strength to try to secure three vital points, although they ultimately succumbed.

Things started well for Universidad de Chile, who took the lead in the 12th minute with a penalty goal by Gonzalo Espinoza.

After halftime, Colo Colo equalized with a powerful left-footed shot by Gabriel Suazo, and a few minutes later completed the comeback with Esteban Paredes' goal, who finished easily after a pass from Pablo Mouche.

Universidad de Chile didn't give up and equalized less than fifteen minutes before the end with a stunning goal by Ángelo Henríquez, who placed the ball in the upper corner from outside the box.

Just when it seemed like the match would end in a tie, Barroso surprised the blue defense at the corner kick and sealed Colo Colo's victory, securing the second position in the standings behind Universidad Católica, the clear leader of the tournament.

Universidad de Chile remains second to last with 21 points and could end up as the bottom team if Universidad de Concepción wins their match this Sunday.
