Peru added its fifth gold medal in spectacular maneuvers in the sea of Punta Rocas. Piccolo Clemente defeated the Uruguayan Julian Schweizer and won the gold in Longboard at the Pan American Games Lima 2019, with which the Peruvian delegation reached a total of 21 medals.
World champion (International Surfing Association) ISA, has won twice the (Association of Surfing Professionals) WSL and world champion by teams in 2010. Now, Pan American champion and wants to continue making history. Benoit Clemente Rothfuss, 'Piccolo' known worldwide, is the maximum exponent of Peruvian surfing and he proved it at Punta Rocas.

In a thrilling final, Clemente prevailed over the Uruguayan with very good waves to become unreachable in the overall score. But despite having that score when there were at least 10 minutes left, he did not let waves pass and gave his best, demonstrating all his talent at the national level.
With this gold medal, Peru adds five of this metal, six of silver, and 10 of bronze, still with some medals to add. We are still on the twelfth day of competition and there are several events left to continue advancing on the podium, which is led by the United States with 120 medals, 52 gold and 39 silver.
