Uruguay 1x1: The aerial game gives and takes away from the 'charrúa' team.

Uruguay 1x1 draw against Paraguay. José María Giménez scored for his team but failed in defense in the Paraguayan tie.

Fernando Muslera:

He had a relatively calm performance, always caught the centers that reached his area. He couldn't do anything to prevent Lucas Barrios' equalizing goal. In the 90+2', he saved Uruguay from defeat by blocking Gonzalez's shot.

Maxi Pereira:

In the absence of Diego Godin, he was the captain of the team against Paraguay. He always seems to have three lungs. In the second half, he insisted on taking off from the right, made good crosses, and executed a throw-in into the box that almost resulted in a goal by Cavani.

Sebastián Coates:

He was measured in defense, fulfilling his duties, and always won in the air against Paraguay's forwards. In the 71st minute, he was cautioned for a foul against Haedo Valdez.

José María Giménez:

He scored Uruguay's goal with a great header in the 28th minute, and later had another identical opportunity but goalkeeper Villar prevented the celebration. He was involved in Paraguay's goal; Lucas Barrios beat him in the air.

Álvaro Pereira:

As always, he performed well on the left side. In the first half, he didn't show much, but in the remaining 45 minutes, he was always an attacking option. In the 73rd minute, he received his second yellow card in the Copa and won't be able to play in the quarter-finals.

Egidio Arévalo Ríos:

The great warrior in Uruguay's midfield continues to be one of the standouts. He always keeps it simple; recovers and releases the ball first. He never complicates things.

Álvaro González:

He supports Arévalo Ríos in the midfield, and had the obligation to commit many fouls in the midfield, but they were always tactics to avoid Paraguay's approaches.

Carlos Sánchez:

One of Uruguay's best players in the first half. He took the corner kick that resulted in Giménez's goal. It's clear that his performance improves when 'maestro' Tabárez puts him in his original position, right midfielder.

Diego Rolan:

In the first half, he was imprecise, always playing on the left side of Uruguay's attack. In the second half, he was the most persistent man in the 'charrúa' attack, his dribbles and combinations with 'palito' Pereira generated danger.

Abel Hernández:

He played the first half and didn't show what was expected of him. At times, he seemed confused with the ball at his feet.

Edinson Cavani:

He always fought against Paraguay's two central defenders. In the 36th minute, he had a clear goal opportunity after a rebound, but his shot went wide. In the second half, he was also close to scoring the second goal for Uruguay with a volley that Villar saved well.

Christian Stuani:

He played the entire second half in place of Abel Hernández. He only had one header in the 64th minute that went just wide.

Cristian Rodríguez:

He entered the game in the 66th minute, replacing Carlos Sánchez. He had no impact on the game.
