Peruvian surfing is one of the sports that can win the most medals at these 2019 Lima Pan American Games. There is a team, especially in the longboard specialty. There we have 'Piccolo' Clemente, the current ISA world champion.
And 'Piccolo' has just debuted successfully in these Games. The longboarder faced Uruguayan Julian Schweizer and Ecuadorian Isidro Villao and defeated them by scoring 11.67 points. Schweizer scored 11.17 and Villao, 7.36.
Now, the national athlete will have to face Costa Rican Anthony Flores and Brazilian Wenderson Conceicao. The heat will take place on Wednesday, July 31st at 11:40 PM (Peruvian time).
In other results, surfers Daniella Rosas and Luca Mesinas won in shortboard and advanced to the second round; while Alonso Correa and Melanie Giunta will seek to stay in the repechage.
