The Peruvian sailor Stefano Peschiera was presented as the flag bearer of the Peruvian delegation at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. The special ceremony took place at the San Ignacio de Loyola University (USIL) where the national delegation was also present.

Precisely, among the notable figures among the 592 athletes representing us is the outstanding swimmer Mauricio Fiol, who is competing for Peru again after four years.

"Being part of the national delegation is something incredible after four years, and it comes together with the excitement of having competed last week and achieved a good result in Chile, as well as achieving a good mark for the Olympic Games," he said.

He also expressed his excitement to compete again after serving a suspension for a doping issue he had in Toronto 2015. "I can't wait to jump into the water at the Pan American Games, I want to represent my country again," he added.

Among the notable figures are also the Peruvian taekwondo athlete Julissa Diez Canseco, who hopes to win a medal. Also, the volleyball player Ángela Leyva, who trusts in giving 100% to win medals for our country.
