It had been commented in the last hours, but it is now official. Maxi Gomez has become a new player of Valencia CF, once the agreement between the che team and Celta de Vigo has been reached. In fact, the Galicians receive the loan of Jorge Sáenz and the return of Santi Mina to what has always been his home.
There is no doubt that both entities can consider themselves satisfied with this agreement. The Uruguayan, 22 years old, joins the current champion of the Copa del Rey until 2024, with a buyout clause of €140M. In addition, Valencia is building a competitive team with the firm purpose of surpassing the group stage during the next edition of the Champions League.
On the other hand, Celta recovers Santi Mina, who has had ups and downs throughout his time in the Turia capital. However, he has always given his all on the field, which has earned him the affection and respect of a very demanding crowd like that of Valencia.
Maxi Gomez has had two really fantastic seasons with Celta. The first one was more productive on a collective level, since in the second one he has had to suffer to exhaustion to achieve permanence in LaLiga Santander. Waiting to see what happens with the future of Rodrigo Moreno, his dance partner in the offensive area of Marcelino Garcia Toral's team could be Kevin Gameiro.
