Peru and Chile faced off last Wednesday in the semifinals of the Copa America. The 'bicolor' won, pleased, and scored goals, which was not well received by the southern press, who unleashed all kinds of criticism against the team led by Reinaldo Rueda. The elimination from the continental tournament was a hard blow for Chile, especially because it was during a 'Pacific Classic', and the historical rivalry between both teams is well known.
What did the Chilean press say about 'La Roja' and Arturo Vidal after losing to Peru in the Copa America?
Note that the Chilean team was reduced by the power of the Peruvian team in the Copa America semifinal. Not even Arturo Vidal could save Rueda's squad.

"Arturo Vidal was very poor. Very disorganized, he couldn't figure out the game, and although he never stopped making an effort, his performance was not enough to be approved," said El Gráfico Chile.
Another player heavily criticized after the Peru vs. Chile match was Alexis Sánchez. The 'Niño Maravilla' was far from his best level, which the press in his country also couldn't overlook.
"On the other hand, Alexis Sánchez tried everything, but his disorganization didn't help the team much, and he ended up being more of a problem than a backup for 'La Roja.' Very individualistic, not very supportive, he lost many balls trying to be the savior, far from his performance in the other matches," added El Gráfico Chile.
Peru defeated Chile 3-0 in a display of good football and determination in the Copa America semifinals. The national team had a spectacular performance and will now go for the 'Maracanazo' against the host for the tournament title.
