Argentine forward Maximiliano Barreiro leaves Independiente del Valle
The 33-year-old Argentine forward Maximiliano Barreiro has reached an agreement with the board of Independiente del Valle and will no longer continue at the club after agreeing to terminate his contract, the institution announced.
"Thank you for your contribution and good luck in your future challenges," was published on the Sangolquí entity's Twitter account.
The player, in turn, stated that his departure is due to the fact that there was no longer a good relationship with coach Gabriel Schürrer, who, according to the athlete, wanted to put him as a right back. In recent matches, he has not even been in the substitutes' bench.
Barreiro was the top scorer of the Ecuadorian tournament in 2016 with 26 goals, when he defended Delfin's jersey in 44 matches. In 2017, he arrived at Independiente halfway through the year and scored 8 goals in 20 games. This season, he has scored 4 goals in 16 matches. (D)
