Colombian National Team Prepares for their Debut in Russia 2018

One week before the start of Russia 2018, the Colombian National Team is preparing in Milan for their debut in Group H of the World Cup, against Japan. With no more friendly matches, Jose Nestor Pekerman's team will wait for June 19th, the date of their first match at the Mordovia Arena in Saransk.

While all of Colombia will support their 23 players, they will also have the support of a former champion from France 1998. It is David Trezeguet, former player of Juventus, who was interviewed by El Tiempo about what the 'cafeteros' team's participation will be like.

"The candidates for Russia 2018 are Germany, Spain, France, and Brazil. But there are other countries that will stand out like Colombia. They are on a mission to continue raising their level, they have nothing to envy from other nations," said Trezeguet.

"Colombia has a highly prestigious coach and players in the top leagues of the world. They will have to find the winning mentality in Russia 2018," emphasized the former world champion.

It should be noted that Colombia is part of Group H of the 2018 World Cup in Russia along with Poland, Japan, and Senegal. The 'cafeteros' will have as their main objective to surpass the quarterfinals of Brazil 2014.
