Alianza Lima is not doing well in these first few months of the year. It was eliminated from the final of the Summer Tournament, has not been able to perform well at Matute, and left a very poor impression in the Copa Libertadores. On top of that, they suffered a 5-0 defeat against Boca Junior in La Bombonera, prior to their debut in the Apertura Tournament.
