UFC Chile: MMA Fans Await the Event
Latin American fans of mixed martial arts (MMA) have been counting the hours for the highly anticipated UFC Chile, which will take place on Saturday, May 19th in Santiago. This will be the first event held by the world's largest promoter in South America (outside of Brazil).
But Chilean UFC fans are not only looking forward to the event, but also to the weigh-in ceremony that will take place one day prior at the Movistar Arena in Santiago. There, all the participants of the evening will step onto the scale, followed by a final face-off with their opponents.

The interesting thing is that, for this occasion, the organizers of UFC Chile will not charge an entrance fee to watch the weigh-in. Instead, attendees will be able to enter for free as long as they make a donation for those in need.
"To watch the weigh-in, attendees only need to contribute one kilogram of food for people in need helped by Burn to Give. [...] To secure tickets, fans must register at burntogive.com and donate 1 kg of rice or legumes at the UFC store in Mall Sport," the company explained in a statement.
It is worth mentioning that the food contributed by the attending fans to UFC Chile will be sent to the Red de Alimentos, an associated organization of Burn to Give, to be distributed to more than 200 institutions served by the network.
